Summerfield HOA Dues Reminder

This is a friendly reminder that HOA dues are due by July 31. Your dues help maintain the amenities and shared spaces that everyone enjoys, including the community pool, grassy common areas, landscaping, and other neighborhood maintenance. Your timely payment helps keep our community looking its best and ensures these shared assets can be enjoyed by all.

Looking for Volunteers

One of the things that makes Summerfield special is that our HOA is self-managed by volunteer homeowners rather than a professional management company. This helps keep our dues among the lowest in the area while allowing neighbors to make decisions for our community.

As several long-serving Board members prepare to step down, we’re looking for homeowners who are willing to get involved. No prior HOA experience is needed—we work together, share responsibilities, and are happy to help new volunteers get started.

any current Board member. Your involvement helps keep Summerfield a wonderful place to live!

Pool Season is Here!

We hope everyone enjoys a fun and safe season at our community pool! A few friendly reminders.

Please supervise your children at all times.
If you or your child have an upset stomach, diarrhea, or are feeling unwell, please stay out of the pool until fully recovered.
Please follow all posted pool rules so everyone can enjoy a safe and FUN pool season.

Doggy Do-Do’s and Don’ts

Summerfield is not only a great neighborhood for families, but also for dogs. We ask all dog owners to please pick up after your dogs. It is common courtesy and required by the Summerfield CC&Rs. Article VI, Section 8 of the Summerfield CC&Rs states: “Dog owners are required to immediately remove any deposits their dogs might place upon the Common Areas, private Lots, streets, or elsewhere in the Community…”

TIP: doggie bags are located in 3 areas within the community for residents to use.

According to San Diego County Code section 62.669(a) and California Penal Code Section 597, dogs must be kept on leashes and the person holding the leash must be capable of controlling the dog while in public.

Poway contracts with the Humane Society for animal control, including lost and stray dogs and barking dog complaints. The number is 760-888-2275. See this web page for more information: Animal-Services

Summerfield Annual July 4th Celebration

What a wonderful time was had by all at our annual Patriotic Bike Parade and HOA-sponsored Barbecue!

Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make this year’s Fourth of July celebration such a fun and memorable day.

A special thank you to our wonderful Grill Master, Mike, for once again serving up a fantastic barbecue. We would also like to extend our sincere appreciation to Denise Shields, Melissa and Chris Wisdom, and everyone else who volunteered their time to help with setup, tear down, and keeping the event running smoothly throughout the day. Your generosity and community spirit made this celebration a great success.

We hope everyone had a safe, happy, and memorable Fourth of July, and we look forward to celebrating with you again next year!

	Michael Spring, President Michael and his family moved into Summerfield in 2015. He has served on the HOA board as treasurer since 2019. Michael works for a 1031 Exchange company. He is married with two children and in his spare time enjoys traveling, camping, and spending countless hours watching his kids play basketball.
	Denise Shields, VP/Architectural Committee Chair Denise and her husband moved to Summerfield in April 2019. Denise has served as the Architectural Chair/VP of the HOA board since February 2022. She has worked in the Real Estate business for over 35 years. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking, entertaining with friends and family, gardening, and all things purple. 	Maria Stein, Treasurer Maria and her husband relocated from the Bay Area to Summerfield in August 2015. Maria works as an HR Generalist/Payroll Specialist for a printing company. She is married with 4 grown children and her interests are party planning, crafting, decorating, traveling and (especially) shopping.
	Anna Finnerty, Secretary Anna and her spouse moved to the welcoming community of Summerfield in 2021. She is happily married and loves spending time with their energetic one-year-old. By day, Anna serves as a TK-8 principal. school. Outside of work she enjoys staying active, whether it’s hiking, exercising, traveling, or spending time with family and friends. She also loves learning new things and recently discovered a passion for Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu!
	Donny Phonea, Special Projects Donny has lived in Summerfield since 2019. He works in the finance sector as a regulator. He is married with two kids. During his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family, playing tennis, and golfing. He also enjoys traveling, playing rock music, and going to wineries.
